REVERB serves as a ministry for high school students, Years 7-12, to grow and learn through the study and application of God’s word. In the past year, YSS has studied God’s word through teaching material: “The Top 13 Questions About God; Intense Discussions for Youth Ministry by Group Publishing” as well as the Book of Revelations.

Teaching God’s word and building inter-group relationships remains to be the purpose of YSS/Reverb. Studies from the teaching material covered topics ranging from “How can I know God exists?” to “How is Jesus different from Mohammed and Buddha?” The bible studies from the book of Revelations gave the youth a sense of the reality of the heavenly realm (of heaven and hell). YSS aimed to build relationships through the learning and practising of the skills of Magic Tricks, Face/Body painting and making Balloon Animals. It is intended that these skills will be used to serve in missional events in the near future.

YSS/Reverb is largely a CACV English Ministry and acts as a bridge between
Children’s Sunday School (CSS) and the English Congregation. A current challenge for
YSS is encouraging its youth to attend the evening 5pm services (as YSS/Reverb runs in
the morning).

What are your session times?

Most weeks we run on Fridays from 6:30pm – 8:30pm.

Is there a cost involved?

Most activities that we run are FREE. However, occasionally we run events that may require payment for the activity. You will be notified in advance if there is a cost attached to the event.

Are Youth Ministry events supervised?

Yes. All our leaders are issued with Working with Children Checks (WWC). To be a Youth Leader at Activate Church, you must have a track record of being responsible and carry a strong faith life.

Does my teen need permission to attend the Youth Ministry?

No. All teens are welcome to attend, but if travel to and/or from the church is involved, they will need to have a completed PARENTAL CONSENT FORM brought with them. A separate consent form is also required for camps and other special events. This rule will be strictly enforced for the safety of your child.

What age groups do you cater for?

Youth is suitable for High School aged kids 13-18 years old.
